PREFACE

         Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Curriculum Development Centre has recently unveiled the new curriculum for Secondary Level Grade 11 and 12 as a new turn in the policy and structure of school level education in Nepal. The national curriculum framework (NCF) advocates for the promotion of skill oriented, life skill-based, employment-driven and value-based school education. It envisions developing the human capital dedicated to nation, nationality, national integrity and Nepali specialty. It gives us immense pleasure to place the new edition of the book entitled “Principles of Accounting- II”. This text book has been prepared as a text book for the students of grade XII following the spirit of NCF 2076 and Secondary Level Curriculum 2076 (Grade 11 and Grade12).

This book is intended to meet the needs of the students for a clear knowledge on theoretical and practical aspects of accounting. This book provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of basic principles, concept and practices of accounting. This book aims to develop student’s understanding on business transactions, record such transactions in an accounting system and enable them to prepare the basic financial statements. This book provides complete reading materials to the students on the subject including sufficient numerical problems for the assignment. The objective of the book is to provide proper guidance to the students. We hope that the book will be useful in getting insights on the principles, concepts and practices of accounting for those who have keen interest to enrich their knowledge in this discipline.

This book is organized in twenty eight chapters. Each chapter of this book has been presented with large number of illustrations. The project works provide the opportunities for the students to experience and feel the places of work where accounting is carried out. The real life situations and exposure can enhance their appreciation of the accounting experiences. Each chapter of book has project work questions which will provide an ample opportunity to bring the real life situation into class room. Efforts have been made to present the subject matter vividly in order to make the subject matter much easier. This book has been prepared to facilitate the students for their better results in exam with the broad knowledge and practical field also.
